one-of-a-kind

I made this for today's Bellarific Friday Sketch. I used New Friends Ella and Looloo, stamped and colored on water color paper. I thought this sentiment (from Friends 'til the End) would be fitting for a baby card, since each new little one really is one-of-a-kind.

Paper~ pearl white (Paper Accents), pretty please (My Mind's Eye), Bazzill, water color (Strathmore), regal rose (SU)

Life is Beautiful in the Happy Forest

Today's card uses this week's Bellarific Friday Sketch. It's posted on the blogabella every Monday, so you can play along. Then Em posts all the cards on Friday. I think that is so fun. This shiny, happy paper is new (only to me). It's called Hello Sunshine by Cosmo Cricket. It comes in an 8x8 pad and every piece has that cool bracketed border on the bottom. It's a little older, so if you can't find it elsewhere, my friend has some left in her online store. It's even on sale.

I stamped the Happy Forest with Memento black ink and colored with copics. Yes, that ink really is as good as everyone says. This was my first go with it, and I couldn't be happier. The sentiment is one of the Strip Teases in the Hello Sunshine pad. I cut the oval with my nesties, layered it on tempting turquoise and trimmed the scallops with some decorative scissors. Stamps- happy forest (stamping bella)
Paper- GP white, PTI white, SU black, Cosmo Cricket's Hello Sunshine
Ink- memento black
Accessories- Copics, bride's flowers, MM crystal brads, nesties, scallop scissors, black gel pen, heidi swapp jewels, dimensionals

Bellarific Friday

It's Bellarific Friday, and this is my first time participating. I hope I got my card emailed to Em on time to be included, since I didn't see a deadline. I guess I'll find out soon when she posts the cards on her Blogabella. Here is the sketch she gave us on Monday to work with.
And here is my card. I used Flowahbella, stamping her on water color paper and coloring with SU! markers and a water brush, cut out with the Labels 1 die. The flowers are made from more of the paper pack used on the card, SU's Bali Breeze. The celery trim is punched with an EK Success Parisian punch. And I used a photo corner punch to get the end of the sentiment flag "just right" without a lot of fuss. MWAH! And chat with ya later!

Stamps- flowahbella (stamping bella), green thumb (papertrey ink) Paper- SU! bali breeze, vanilla, guava, water color Ink- onyx black (versafine), SU! markers Accessories- labels 1 die (spellbinders), cuttlebug flower #1 dies, ek success parisian punch, MAMBI icons, water brush, dimensionals, SU! photo corner punch

PS- Sometimes Blogger just makes me want to pull my hair out!

The Happy Forest

Hola Chicas! It is a gorgeous day! And I'm wasting it away in the house. As soon as I'm done here, I'm out! Buster and I are heading for the trail. But in the mean time, here's the Happy Forest by Stamping Bella. And quite the happy looking little forest it is, wouldn't ya say?
I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch (only a day late, WooHoo!) to show off my YUMMY new Basic Grey Sultry paper. This may be the first thing I've ever bought that I found too pretty to actually cut into. It took me a whole three days to get over that. LOL. It seems to be selling out everywhere, but I see Julee must have just listed some at Verve Visual, here. The image is colored with markers and a watercolor brush.
Hope you're having a happy sunshiny day.
Ingredients:
Stamps-happy forest (Stamping Bella)
Paper-chocolate chip, pixie pink (SU); sultry (Basic Grey); watercolor
Ink- noir (Palette); close to cocoa, garden green, brocade blue, pink passion, only orange, summer sun, pixie pink (SU markers)
Accessories- pin (Heidi Grace); ribbon (May Arts); sequins and mini brads (Queen & Co. Kissy Fit Sassy Sequins); slot punch (SU); d'vine swirls embossing folder (Cuttlebug); dimensionals

Use What You Love...or else

I pulled out Jen's Sketch For You To Try last night, and this is the result. This card makes me a firm believer in the thought...Use things you love and you'll love your card. I forced myself to use this paper, and therefore these colors, because it's been sitting here for probably a year. And while I don't hate the card, and can't find anything exactly wrong with it, I don't love it.
So, here are a few deets. This darling image from Stamping Bella was sent to me by Sandy (Hi!, if you happen to stop by). I know it's a permanent black stamped on (I think) Georgia Pacific white, which held up quite nicely to just a little bit of water coloring. I mostly colored with Stampin' Up markers (More mustard, creamy caramel, ruby red, certainly celery), but smoothed it out a bit with a watercolor brush. I added a few shadows with Copic C-1. I knotted some thread around the buttons (dollar store?) before adhering them with glue dots. Yummy ribbon is spring moss grosgrain from Papertrey Ink. And that not-quite-my-style paper is Mod Mat Stack from Autumn Leaves.

Something Cute

What a great mail day I had! I got my order from All That Scraps with some new Sultry Basic Grey paper AND brads. I got some stamped Elzybells images. And my Bella order arrived, as you can see below. And yes, that is from Stamping Bella, is just not *a* Bella. It's called "new friends ella and looloo", and I think it's so sweet.

I think everything is pretty self-explanatory, so I'll just leave you with a list of what I used. Except maybe the fact that I colored the clear gemstones (on her crown) with a blue Copic marker. But please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Stamps- new friends ella and looloo (Stamping Bella); Family Phrases (Verve Visual)

Paper- watercolor, kraft (Stampin' Up); spring moss, white (Papertrey Ink); Romani (Basic Grey)

Ink: noir (Palette); blush blossom, pretty in pink, old olive, certainly celery, going gray, bashful blue, close to cocoa, so saffron (SU markers); copic marker B23

Accessories: gold atyou Spica glitter pen, fruit punch stickles, Hero Arts gemstones, Papertrey spring moss ribbon, primas (Hydrangea and forever flowers); SU word window punch; dimensionals; corner rounder (EK Success)

Dropping You a Line

Wow, these Bellas are popular! My local stamp store is not too close for me (probably a good thing). So I don't go too often. But I know they carry Bellas. I love it. No paying for shipping and then w-a-i-t-i-n-g...... But they tend to always be out of the ones I most want. So on my last visit, I picked up this Staceyfishabella and Teeoffabella. I'm thinking of making my highly under-used golf clubs a golf bag tag.

I remembered that I had this sentiment from Inky Antics, too. So I didn't have to buy the one Stamping Bella makes (same sentiment, different script). And it makes a using a fishing bella so much more practical.

I stamped Bella on watercolor paper, drew the line for the ground and colored with SU! markers and a water brush. Cut the sentiment oval with my Coluzzle and trimmed out the scallops with scalloped scissors.

What's In It?
Stamps: Staceyfishabella (Stamping Bella); sentiment (Inky Antics)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine); black Micron pen; pumpkin, close to cocoa, choc chip, bashful blue, blush blossom, caramel, garden green (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: water color, close to cocoa (SU!); Cowboy Collection (Crate Paper)
Accessories: ribbon (SU!) provocraft scallop scissors, lasting impressions antique brads, square Nestabilities die, Cuttlebug

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Or getting around to visit all of your blogs either. Life's been busy (in a fun kind of way) and I hadn't been stamping a whole lot. I went to the Steelers Monday Night game vs. Miami (the mud bowl) a couple weeks ago, the Sunday Night game vs. Cincinnati this week and a couple of Penguin games in the mix too. All of our tickets just happened to fall together.

So thanks for stickin' with me and stopping by. I'd love to hear from ya.
